Assemblyman Jones visits Keene

I went out to Keene to meet more of my constituents and listen to all the great things they have planned for the area. I visited Keene Central School, where I met some of the teachers and students and learned more about the school district. Superintendent Dan Mayberry gave me a tour of the school and showed me some of the various renovations that have been made to the building over the years and provided updates about some of the issues the school is currently facing. There are a lot of great things happening at this small school in the heart of the high peaks, and I look forward to meeting more of you at the annual community dinner.

Between visits, Ella and I grabbed a sandwich from the Valley Grocery in Keene Valley. Great store, great selection, and great food! Make sure to pay them a visit next time you're in town!

We ended our day by meeting board members from the Wells Memorial Library to hear more about their important work, and they were kind enough to give me a Strong Libraries Strong Communities sign. In the afternoon, I met with Karen Glass, the librarian at Keene Valley Library to talk about their programming. Currently, the Keene Valley Library is home to the Keene Public Library due to issues they are having with the building so we also talked about the library construction grant they just received. These libraries have a long history in their communities, and I will continue to be a proud supporter of our local libraries.
