It is imperative that we ensure our childcare organizations have the funding they need. NYS contracts are not being paid and federal funding is not being allocated. Our economy depends on the availability of reliable childcare which is why I joined with the Child Care Coordinating Council, the United Way of the Adirondack Region, Inc, the Joint Council for Economic Opportunity - JCEO, and the Plattsburgh YMCA, along with my colleagues across the state, to call for the release of this critical funding. These organizations stepped up to the plate to provide child care for our essential workers during a time of crisis and we need to ensure their continued viability, not exacerbate an already stressed system. #childcareisessential
